Beware of Fraud!🚨

BELOW ARE 2 SCAMS THAT ARE AFFECTING STFCU MEMBERS:

SCAM 1
Recently, there have been multiple e-mail fraud attempts, known as “Phishing”, that were initiated via e-mail sent to both the general public and to some credit union members that appeared to be from NCUA (National Credit Union Administration). This false e-mail said an employee of STFCU was stealing money(false) and “NCUA” is asking for the recipient to wire, cashapp, venmo, or apple pay them all of the funds in their account. If the recipient did not, then “their assets would be frozen and they would not have access to their money.”

Neither NCUA nor St. Tammany Federal Credit Union will ask you to wire/ send your money to them. Anyone who receives an e-mail that is suspected to be from NCUA and asks for account information or asks you to send money elsewhere, you should consider it to be a fraudulent attempt to obtain personal account data for an illegal purpose and should not follow the instructions in the e-mail.

If you responded to such an e-mail, provided any confidential account information, or sent any money, please notify St. Tammany Federal Credit Union immediately at info@sttammanyfcu.com or by calling 985-643-1237.

SCAM 2
STFCU members are currently receiving calls and texts from a number that is identifying themselves as STFCU. They are then asking for confidential information. Do not give them any information. The fraud department may text asking if a transaction was yours and ask you to reply yes. DO NOT!!! IF YOU DID NOT MAKE THE TRANSACTION DO NOT REPLY YES TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT TEXT.

If you receive a call asking for personal information:

1️⃣ Refrain from sharing any card or account information.
2️⃣ Hang up immediately.
3️⃣ Contact us at (985) 643-1237 if you shared sensitive information.

🚨Remember, STFCU will NEVER call, text, or email you asking for your account number, SSN, card number, PIN, or online banking login information.
